at this point the music is not really worth listening to, but there is still some behind the scenes value in these headset recordings. sorry, not the famed "parking lot scanner" gold, but.... anyway:

3/29/95...don't get cute harry, you're not that fuckin' smart

wow thanks so much for the links! can't wait to give them a listen. I'm kinda new around here so I'm not sure if I'm allowed to ask this but is there a way to download off the stream or is the live stream the only way to listen? I would love to add these shows to my collection.

Some band banter comes through on a lot of early seventies SBD's, it seems. I love 4-8-72 where you here Jerry call Bob out on his "numero uno Turlock (?)" Truckin' intro.

"That's the same thing you said last night, man."

And, uh, I think it's 3-1-69, after Bill G's intro there's some chatter and Jerry going something like, "no, wait wait wait, this is gonna be good," then they launch into dupree's.

Was just listening to one, I want to say Fillmore East '70, with someone, I think Phil, mocking an audience member; "Play St. Stephen!" in a kind of moronic voice.

The *BEST* though is the Dark Star out of 12-18-73. Somebody's calling "we've got a blown speaker somewhere," probably a roadie, but it GOES WITH THE JAM, which sounds like the axons shorting in your brain. Strictly from Outer Space. When I checked it wasn't on the archive, but this Dark Star will send you through time. I keep meaning to post about it, but it's hard to know where to begin.

A friend of mine had a tape of these conversations from a 1994 Shoreline gig. You didn't hear the boys, unless they stepped on a foot switch hidden under mats in front of their mike stands. True, some of those police scanner radios could search and find the wireless mike frequencies too...
